The Journey That Shaped Securim

SAC to Securim Transition

How It All Started

The story of Securim began under the name Strategic Alliance Consulting (SAC). At the time, telecom networks were constrained by monolithic 4G Core technology — rigid, hardware-dependent, and costly to scale. Deployments required proprietary equipment and long lead times, limiting agility and slowing innovation. In a small garage lab, our team built one of the first virtualized 4G Cores by integrating OpenStack with Contrail SDN.

This proved that the 4G Core could be elastic, on-demand, and cloud-based, unlocking scalability, cost efficiency, and faster service deployment. Our work expanded into secure mobility through the launch of the V2X Lab, where we demonstrated connected-vehicle messaging using DSRC and C-V2X. This positioned us as early leaders in transportation cybersecurity, well before it became a national priority.

Advancing Security and Compliance in Cloud-Native Networks

As the world shifted to 5G, the complexity of cloud-native, microservices-based architectures introduced both opportunity and risk. We partnered with the largest U.S. wireless operator to lead service assurance for the industry’s first multi-vendor, cloud-native 5G Core designed for nationwide deployment.

This involved validating security at the containerized network function level, aligning compliance testing with 3GPP standards, and embedding resilience into a distributed, cloud-native architecture. The experience strengthened our expertise in microservices and compliance for cloud-native networks, positioning us to extend these principles into new enterprise and industrial use cases.

Productization and Sector Expansion

Building on this momentum, we launched 5GSoftware.com, a spinout dedicated to making secure private 5G accessible for enterprises. The platform translated our national-scale expertise into turnkey deployments for small and mid-sized businesses, with security and compliance built in from the start.

It expanded into cross-sector applications, enabling smart factories to automate in real time, smart warehouses to optimize logistics through IoT, and state DOTs to explore connected transportation frameworks that bridged automotive standards with defense requirements. This marked our shift from consultancy to solutions provider, showing that we could productize expertise and scale it across industries.

Scaling Compliance Across Industries

Our work broadened further into compliance and cybersecurity programs across defense, fintech, healthcare, utilities, and public-sector critical infrastructure. We delivered full-spectrum programs that included compliance roadmaps, vCISO services, NIST-based assessments, penetration testing, and training. Our team guided defense contractors through CMMC readiness, fintech firms through SOC 2 certification, healthcare providers through HIPAA and PCI compliance, and utilities through tailored security programs.

One of our most visible efforts was a security and compliance project at Seattle’s Lumen Field, where we secured wireless communications during an international sporting event — a high-stakes environment where resilience and trust were non-negotiable. These projects proved our ability to blend regulatory expertise with hands-on cybersecurity execution, building credibility across diverse industries and laying the foundation for our next transformation.

Becoming Securim

We rebranded from Strategic Alliance Consulting (SAC) to Securim, a name symbolizing clarity, protection, and decisive action. The rebrand marked more than a new identity — it signaled our evolution into a platform-first company. Combining the experience of years of consulting with the power of compliance automation, we began delivering solutions that make security and compliance practical, measurable, and scalable.

Securim today is not just a trusted advisor but a builder of systems that allow organizations to meet regulatory requirements while strengthening their operational resilience. From defense to healthcare, from fintech to utilities and public infrastructure, we remain committed to a simple thesis: cybersecurity should empower organizations, not hold them back.

Our journey from a garage lab virtualizing 4G to a platform-first compliance company reflects the spirit that defines Securim — solving hard problems, anticipating what’s next, and making trust both achievable and sustainable.

And we’re just getting started...
